Document Organization

It’s important to follow a clear and concise template for all your notes. Being organized makes it easier to find what you need while studying, and ensures that your information is retained in a conveniently accessible form.

Use A Variety of Colours

Taking notes is important for many people, as it helps with studying, reviewing, etc. While taking notes, it’s important to be organized and write clearly, so when you look back on them later on, you can understand the concepts you wrote down! Color coding notes can also be very helpful. For example, when I take notes, I use the color orange for all my examples, so I can tell what is an example easily! In my opinion, this makes note taking more fun, efficient, and visually appealing!

Annotating

If you’re a person who studies better with pencil and paper over digital notes, be prepared to get yourself a good set of high quality stationary! While your notes are primarily for your own use, keeping them legible is crucial. Writing neatly and using a consistent format not only aids in your study process but also helps your brain process the information better. It is also important to annotate your notes to highlight main ideas. Annotating looks different for everyone whether it's highlighting, using a different font or adding images. However, be careful not to over-annotate, as too many side notes can make your primary content difficult to follow.
